Electronics giant, Samsung Heavy Industries Ltd (SHI), is set to invest £100 million in offshore wind projects in Scotland.The 7MW wind turbine will be the company’s first European offshore wind project and it is expected to create 500 renewable energy jobs in the sector. Read more

Apple launches reuse and recycling cashback scheme
Apple has launched its first UK reuse and recycling cashback scheme for old iPads, iPhones, desktops and laptops. The scheme which operates in the US will now be available in the UK, France and Germany. Dataserv will run Apple’s reuse and recycling programme in the UK.Read more
PDM’s ReFood AD plants to create jobs, renewable energy and recycling
Two new anaerobic digestion plants, part of PDM’s network of ReFood AD plants, will be developed in Widnes and East London later this year.Following the successful completion of its Doncaster site, the company has announced that a further £40 million will be invested in the ReFood venture. Sainsbury’s and Biffa sign new AD contract for food waste
Sainsburys have signed a deal with Biffa to send all of its food waste to an anaerobic digestion facility, making it the UK’s ‘largest retail user of AD in the country’.
